11:00am 1:6 Scale GI Joe 3D Printing Workshop with Jim Egner
Jim Egner, a 30 plus year vintage GI Joe collector, and a former graphic designer, instructor, and replica prop maker, started making 3D printed parts back in 2015. With over 20 years of vacuum forming and resin casting Star Wars costume parts for independent film productions, the Rebel Legion and the 501st, he wanted to provide affordable replacements parts for GI Joe in 1:6 scale.
12:00 (noon) The History of Super Joe with Steve Stovall and Jason Schiermeyer
The Super Joe Adventure Team was Hasbro’s 8 ½ inch follow-up to the original 12-inch GI Joe line. The figures and accessories ranged from Earthbound adventures to science fiction fantasy. Although the line only ran for two years (1977-1978), it has a small, but very dedicated fan-base. The History of Super Joe will be presented by Steve Stovall, the curator of the 3D Super Joes website. Steve and White Elephant Toyz are the folks behind the retro Adventure Command and Astro Command lines that capture the vintage Super Joe spirit.
